Day 1
You will be welcomed at “Quintal de Além do Ribeiro”. This quinta is situated just outside the centre of Lousã.
Overnight stay: ‘Quintal Além do Ribeiro’.
Day 2
You will be brought to the church in the centre of Lousã, located at the foot of the mountain with the same name. The peaks of this gently sloping and green massive reach until 1200m.
Here starts your Levada walk. A big part of this nice walk you will follow the water.
Circular route and not guided.
Overnight, ´Quintal de Além do Ribeiro`.
Day 3
Today you can choose between 2 loop walks; either you make a tour along ghost towns (except some West European or Portuguese city people, who ran away from the hectic life of their homeland, live here). Or pull to the western side of the national reserve, through forested area and two still inhabited villages, Talasnal and Casal Novo.
Circular route and guided.
You end in the centre of Lousã where you can take the bus or you can extend your holiday at the quinta or in Coimbra.
Walk through this ancient university city of Coimbra (Unesco world Heritage) and enjoy the typical Fado concert at A Capella
Extra days
You can book extra days at the Quinta just to relax or to go for a canoe trip at the Mondego river.
